The Oceanside Hospice Society was smiling after it received $7,000 from the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign.

The campaign took place Sept. 19-25 and raised funds through the sale of iconic chocolate chunk cookies topped with pink and blue icing drawing out a smile. They were available at every participating Tim Hortons restaurant across the country including the one in Parksville.

All proceeds from the special cookies were donated to local charities. In Parksville, the Oceanside Hospice Society was the chosen recipient of the funds raised.

The society is grateful to all volunteers who came out to help decorate cookies, owner/operators Michelle Neid and Nick Pollard, as well as to the Tim Hortons staff.
