“Richard is a great leader in the fire department. He’s also got a good technical proficiency. Excellent trainer. And good on scenes. It is my distinct pleasure to present you with the 20-year federal exemplary service medal,” said Norris.

Mayor Ed Mayne said: “Thank you just doesn’t seem to be enough when we talk to all the firefighters, but especially when it’s a firefighter that’s been around for 20 years. Congratulations. And on behalf of the city council and the City of Parksville, we appreciate what you do for us.”
