To help children and families cool off when the temperature is extremely hot, the Parksville Volunteer Fire Department is bringing back its popup water park on Friday, Aug. 13 (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.).

The fire department is inviting the community to come out and join firefighters and run through a misting spray from an aerial ladder and also have fun with other fire hose equipment.

The popup water park will be held at Foster Park, located at the corner of Sanderson Rd. and Pym St.

Popup or instant water parks are a chance for residents and visitors to check out the fire engines and equipment, learn about fire safety and talk to members about what it means to be a volunteer firefighter.

The Parksville Fire Department members look forward to the opportunity to engage with the community and share in the fun.

A second popup water park is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 20 with more details to come.
