Parksville Lawn Bowling Club helps out Salvation Army food bank

The Parksville Lawn Bowling Club recently held a fundraiser to help the Mount Arrowsmith Salvation Army food bank.

The club held a fun social on Dec. 17. Members came out to participate and gave generously, cash or in-kind.

The event generated $251 cash and collected a load of non-perishable food items for the local food bank.

The Parksville Lawn Bowling Club holds a number of fundraising events that include tournaments, draws and open events throughout the season.

All monies raised are donated to help various charities in the community that include the War Amps Hospice Society, Cancer Patient Care, the Legion Poppy Fund and the Salvation Army Food Bank.
