Parksville Rotary Club to donate bottle drive proceeds to people of Ukraine

The Rotary Club of Parksville will dedicate its weekend bottle drive to humanitarian aid in Ukraine.

Starting March 19, proceeds from the Rotary Bottle Drive, held at Speedy Glass in Parksville every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will be dedicated to Ukraine.

“We are asking each Parksville resident to donate $1 or 10 bottles/cans which, based on our current population, should translate to a total of $12,514,” said Rotary spokesperson Diana Matsuda. “Please show your support for the people of Ukraine.”

Matsuda said the Rotary expects this to be an ongoing effort for several weeks. She hopes the comunity we will be able to drop by and support the campaign.
