Qualicum Beach sets schedule for spring 2022 chipping program

Residents advised to follow guidelines for smooth pickup

The Town of Qualicum Beach is set to hold its spring chipping program.

For those residents east of Memorial Avenue, chipping should be out for collection by 8 a.m. on March 14. For those west of Memorial Avenue, residents are advised to have their chipping out by 8 a.m. on April 4.

For smooth pickup, there are guidelines for residents to follow:

• One pile per property;

• Small trees, branches, woody shrub materials;

• Maximum pile of eight-feet by eight feet by five feet high;

• Wood under four inches in diameter;

• Neatly stacked at the roadside with butt ends facing the same direction;

Not allowed:

• Grass clippings, leaves, soft plant materials;

• Piles with gravel, dirt, or roots with dirt

Residents should note that the chipper will only travel down each street once.
