Pauline Nodwell will celebrate her 104th birthday in Qualicum Beach on Sept. 2.
She was born in Saskatchewan in 1919 and grew up on a homestead.
Nodwell believes as long as you’ve had a good life, then the long part doesn’t matter.
Whatever it is you’re doing, do it well. Be honest and hard-working.
It’s important to be thoughtful of each other, and considerate to your friends so they can depend on you. Truly love one another.

Nodwell, her friends and her family celebrated a bit early with a cake baked by her friend Heather Cooper.
In 2019 she marked her 100th birthday with 145 guests at Qualicum Beach Community Hall.
