A weekend food bank drive, organized by Oceanside Community Safety and the Oceanside RCMP, raised more than $3,500 and a police car full of food and other necessities for the Mount Arrowsmith Salvation Army Food Bank.
The ‘Cram the Cruiser Food Bank Drive’ on Saturday, March 12, saw volunteers with Oceanside Community Safety and Oceanside RCMP police officers outside Save-On-Foods at Wembley Mall in support of the food back.
“Thank you to Save-On Foods for the space and everyone who donated much-needed food and money for the local food bank,” said Sgt. Shane Worth of the Oceanside RCMP. “This event certainly highlighted the generosity of the (Parksville Qualicum Beach) community.”
Oceanside Community Safety is a group that works in partnership with various organizations and agencies, including the RCMP, to provide public safety and crime prevention programs to PQB residents.
