Rodeo returns to Coombs for fourth year

Events include saddle, bareback riding and barrel racing

The rodeo is coming to town.

The Vancouver Island Western Heritage Association is hosting the fourth annual Bulls, Broncs and Barrels at the Coombs Rodeo Grounds Aug. 18 and 19. Events start at 1 p.m. daily.

The event will feature bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding and barrel racing.

Tickets are $20 for adults ($35 for the weekend), $15 for students/seniors ($25 for the weekend) and children aged six and under can attend for free.

On Saturday, Aug. 18, there is a steak dinner. There is also a dance that night at 8 p.m. with tickets for $25.

Throughout the weekend, there will be a concession, 50/50 draws, a rodeo clown, a western drill team and more.

There is camping available starting at noon on Friday, Aug. 17.
