The Regional District of Nanaimo is inviting shutterbugs of all ages and abilities to enter the ‘Our RDN - Photo Contest’.

Residents and visitors can submit their best shots throughout August for a chance to win a prize. The contest will showcase the best of the regional district and is an opportunity to explore new areas, to share the places we love most and to put a spotlight on the activities we are doing in the region to make it an even better place to live.

There are four photo categories to enter:

• Enjoying Our Great Outdoors – The area has amazing natural wonders and waterways, parks and trails and more to enjoy. Show us how you like to get off the beaten track whether cycling, hiking, sailing, walking, running, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, wind surfing, canoeing, rock climbing, etc.

• My Hometown – Show what you love about the rural or urban parts of the RDN, it could be farmland, city lights, landscape views, town centres, landmarks or village centres.

• Going Green – How are you going green, at home or in your daily life? It could be riding your bike or the bus, recycling or composting, conserving water, or practicing sustainable and innovative practices such as xeriscaping, rain harvesting and solar panels.

• Your Region – The district wants to receive images from youth under 18 years old, in the RDN. Show what you love and enjoy about where you live.
