When members and supporters of Forward House gathered on Thursday, May 5 to celebrate their Firefly Awards night, one award really stood out.

That award, given for the first time was the Humanitarian Award for Youth, which was won by 16-year-old Marina Cleveland.

She was honoured for her work as a volunteer at the Salvation Army Food Bank.

Cleveland’s teacher, Jane Good and  principal Joe Panichelli nominated her for this prestigious award, which was presented to her by Forward House executive director Carol Richardson.
