PLANT SALE AND VENDOR MARKET: Library fundraiser, Nanoose Library Centre, 2489 Nanoose Rd., 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Info: 250-240-5511.

PLANT SALE AT ESWYN’S ALPINE & ROCK GARDEN: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nanoose Place, 2925 Northwest Bay Rd., Nanoose. The garden features rare alpines transplanted from Eswyn Lyster’s garden. Displays of the garden’s history and information on growing alpines. Paul Spriggs, master crevice gardener from Victoria. will be in attendance with alpine plants for sale. Eswyn’s garden caretakers and Alpine Gardeners of Central Vancouver Island (AGCVI) are hosting the event with proceeds from the sale going to the AGCVI speaker fund and upkeep of the garden. MOTHER’S DAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST: 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the LCC in Qualicum Bay. Delicious breakfast includes beverage: $6, $9, or $11. PARKSVILLE PROBUS CLUB: For retired and semi-retired seniors who want to socialize and meet new friends. We meet every month at the Parksville Community Centre to chat, share a tea or coffee, and hear a speaker talk about interesting, relevant and diverse topics.
