The first Pub Night at the McMillan Arts Centre (the MAC) will kick off with country music duo and visual artists Michael and Els Schutte on Oct 11.
The couple is from Holland, where Michael was in a couple of prominent bands for many years and Els taught line dancing. They formed a duo shortly after meeting and traveled around Europe performing for 12 years.
Ten years ago they were invited to perform at the Great Canadian Barn Dance in Alberta, their first performance in Canada.
The couple now lives in French Creek where they have an art and music learning centre called Practicum Music and Art.
At Pub Night at the MAC they will perform a mix of modern and traditional country, and beer and wine will be available. Surrounding the duo during their performance will be their visual art, paintings and statues, currently exhibited at the MAC.
The fun happens Friday Oct 11 at 7:30 p.m, doors open at 7. Admission is $10 at the door at this adult-only event.
