Persian culture at MAC

Kira Van Deusen and her cello tell of experiences in Iran

Accompanied by her cello and evocative vocal music, Kira Van Deusen will tell original stories based in Persian culture and about  her own travels in Iran this Friday, April 25, as part of the Tales for the Telling, Stories for Adults series at the McMillan Arts Centre (MAC) in Parksville at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7).

Her presentation, called A Persian Carpet Weaver, A Canadian Traveler, and The One Who Waited, explores a young woman’s journey of self discovery and the pressure inherent in a woman’s cultural experience in Iran.

For more than twenty years, Van Deusen has delighted audiences in Canada, the United States and Europe with her storytelling and music.

Tickets are $10 at the door or can be purchased in advance at the MAC in Parksville which is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check www.mcmillanartscentre.com for more.
