Wil Mimnaugh rocked the Bayside in Parksville Friday night, and his signature intensity and genuine enthusiasm was well received.
The show, which had been sold out for weeks, included an opening act by Cumberland’s Brodie Dawson. Dawson belted out some great folky tunes with her strong, captivating voice and a refreshing, honest style.
Wil played like a champion to the small, intimate crowd and before long people were up dancing to his well-loved songs.
Both Wil and Dawson are nominated for Vancouver Island Music Awards happening April 28 in Victoria. Wil for Island Pop/Rock Album or EP of the Year as well as Island Vocalist of the Year, and Dawson for Island Live Act of the Year.
