It has always sickened my stomach that the City of Parksville has gone to such great lengths to eradicate any and every sign of Canada geese here.
It’s so sad that it is now rare to hear the honking of these beautiful birds in these parts. So I found it ironic that the RCMP in Victoria went to great lengths to guide a flock of Canada geese safely onto the sidewalk by the Johnson Street Bridge.
Wish I could share the video on this page. You can actually hear the RCMP officer honking at the geese to get them to go where they want them to go… even driving on the wrong side of the road to get them there. Heart-warming and nothing like the cold, sterile place Parksville is becoming.
