Parksville will host an evening full of stories of mishap and adventure on April 26.

Storyteller Pearl-Ann Gooding will present ‘Three Apples Fell … In My Backyard and Beyond’ at the McMillan Arts Centre (MAC) starting at 7 p.m., according to a news release.

Come travel with Gooding as she takes you on her exploits where she discovers that “Home is really where her story begins!”

‘Three Apples Fell … In My Backyard and Beyond’ is a one-woman concert containing a collection of stories that Gooding has either lived through or researched in her family or community.

Sometimes the worst experiences make the best stories… or so she tells herself as she goes through them. Just as the late American humourist Erma Bombeck said, “there is a thin line that separates laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humour and hurt.”

Gooding lives in small town Wainwright, Alta. with her husband and mini dachshund, Marmalade. She works in her local junior/senior high school.

Gooding is the recipient of the National Storykeeper Award and proud to be associated with both Storytellers of Canada and Storytelling Alberta. She runs an annual Haunted Hike in her “very haunted” community and loves gathering more ghost lore wherever she travels.

‘Three Apples Fell … In My Backyard and Beyond’ starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The MAC is located at 133 McMillan St. in Parksville.

Tickets are $20 ($18 for Mid-Island Storytellers members) and will be available at the door or online at https://shop.mcmillanartscentre.com/products/tales-for-the-telling-storytelling-for-adults-three-apples-fell-in-my-backyard.
