Environment Canada says the moist Pacific frontal system that’s hit the east coast of Vancouver Island will let up Tuesday, but only after delivering between 60 and 90 millimeters of rain in the region.

Heavy rain started in the evening on Monday, Jan. 6, with Environment Canada warning of the deluge Monday morning.
The organization warns of heavy downpours with the potential to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
A rainfall warning is also in effect for other areas of B.C.’s south coast, including Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and Howe Sound.
