Oceanside RCMP apprehended a person under the Mental Health Act in Parksville on April 24.

Police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Moilliet Street South for a well-being check, according to Sgt. Shane Worth of the Oceanside RCMP.

“The person did not initially want to speak with attending officers, however after some extended dialogue the person ended up speaking with officers and they were apprehended under the Mental Health Act,” Worth said in an email to the PQB News.

No injuries or criminal offences were reported, and police left the area as soon as the incident was over, Worth added.
