The overnight warming centre in Qualicum Beach will be extended through the night of Jan. 18.
The centre, open from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., is operated by Risebridge and is hosted at the Christian Fellowship Centre (CFC), located at 825 Village Way.
Risebridge has operated the centre since a cold snap began on Jan. 11. Since then Qualicum Beach broke two cold weather records, according to Environment Canada data.

Jovonne Johnson, Risebridge executive director, said the warming centre has been well-attended.
All guests are welcome at the centre. The church can be accessed using bus route 91.
The Nanaimo Risebridge location (520 Prideaux St.) is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as a warming centre until March 31.
