Regional District of Nanaimo offers kids chance to try out lacrosse

The Regional District of Nanaimo Recreation Department has come up with an approach that would allow children to try out lacrosse before they commit to the game.

The Lacrosse First Sticks is being offered to children aged five to t1 years old. It will take place at Oceanside Elementary School from Jan. 15 to March 11. Gear is provided.

The (age) 5-7 group will start at 5:30 p.m. to 6: 30 p.m. followed by the 7-10 group from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and 11-13 from 7:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

You can also register by going to Oceanside Place Arena at 8:30 W. Island Highway, Parksville or at Ravensong Aquatic Centre at 737 Jones St., Qualicum Beach.

Oceanside Minor Lacrosse has also started registration for those interested in playing box lacrosse. It is open to players aged five to 16.
