The Legion is assisting in spreading the word about the changes recently made to the Ambassador for Peace Medal for Korean War Veterans. Previously this medal was awarded to those veterans who participated in Korea's 'Revisit Program,' but has now been expanded to Canadian Veterans who cannot return to Korea to receive the award.
The Ambassador for Peace Medal is an initiative of the Korean Government to demonstrate appreciation for those Canadian men and women who served in the Korean War.
Eligible veterans must have served in Korea from June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953, or participated in the UN peacekeeping operations until 1955.
Spouses and next of kin may apply on behalf of a Veteran, as this medal can be awarded posthumously.
