The Canadian Cancer Society needs another 100 door-to-door canvassers in the Parksville Qualicum Beach area for the crucial Daffodil Month fundraising push in April.
"We've had a lot of long-term canvassers taken down by long-term illness," said coordinator Hugh Baker, who highlighted the tireless work so many community volunteers do. A few years ago they would get as many as 250 people going door-to-door raising funds and awareness. Last year that was down to 150 and this year they have less than 50 signed up.
