Celebration committee looks for Qualicum Beach photos

Stories behind the photos will be sought and published too

Qualicum Beach is preparing to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday in 2017 and the town's Canada 150 Celebration Committee is planning to publish photographs of recognizable area locations, including buildings, gardens and iconic landscapes.

Stories behind the photos will be sought and published as well. The publication is planned to feature historical photographs juxtaposed with current photographs of the same scene, view, garden or building. This is where you come in.

Do you have old photos (1950s and earlier) of identifiable places in and around Qualicum Beach, including buildings that may or may not be standing, that you are willing to share for possible inclusion in the publication? If so, please contact the photographer, Rusty Joerin, who will arrange for a convenient time to meet with you. E-mail is best: rusty@woodsgift.ca.

All published historical photos will be appropriately credited to their owners and original photographer, if known, in a manner agreed to by the owner of the photographs. — Submitted by Rusty Joerin
