A toddler was seriously injured in a lawn mowing accident in Qualicum Beach on the weekend.
The two-year-old boy lost a foot when it was cut off by a ride-on mower just before 12:30 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 2100 block of Island Highway West.
The child was rushed by BC Ambulance personnel to the Qualicum Beach municipal airport, where the boy was loaded onto a helicopter and flown to B.C. Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, where he was listed in serious condition.
It is unclear exactly how the incident took place.
