City's director of community planning retires

After almost 14 years with the City of Parksville, planner Gayle Jackson has announced her retirement.

PARKSVILLE - The City of Parksville has announced that its director of community planning, Gayle Jackson, has decided to retire.

Fred Manson, Chief Administrative Officer, made the announcement today.

Jackson came to the City of Parksville in 1998, according to a city news release, and over her time with the City has left a lasting legacy on the many and varied developments that have helped shape a vibrant and livable City for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Jackson was a key participant in the development of the AquaStar Water Awareness, participated in developing the waterfront walkway and other programs. The City states her knowledge, experience, and professionalism given so freely throughout her career, will be missed.

The City of Parksville wishes Jackson a long and happy retirement as she embarks on an exciting new chapter in her life.
