In a story on page 4 Nov. 28, we inadvertently omitted part of a comment by a source, an error that could cause some confusion.
When Parksville and District Chamber of Commerce executive director Kim Burden was talking about contributions businesses make to the tax base, he suggested it could be improved by expanding the overall commercial tax base, ie. increasing the amount of commercial activity and the number of businesses paying tax.
That was not made clear in the story. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
