PANNING FOR GOLD ON CRAIG STREET: The Craig Street Market opened for the season Tuesday night in downtown Parksville and continues every Tuesday evening into September. One of the vendors, Ted Klein (pictured above) was selling $10 bags of gravel from the Yukon. Kline guaranteed each bag contained some gold, which one could find after panning right on site. There was, in fact, some gold in the bag Klein panned for us Tuesday.
