Parksville-Qualicum MLA Ron Cantelon presents Parksville Lions President Jim Hoffman with a $20

The Parksville Lions Club's GreenGym outdoor exercise equipment is currently being installed in Community Park and will be greatly helped by a $20,000 grant from the provincial government.

Parksville-Qualicum MLA Ron Cantelon, Parksville Lions President Jim Hoffman and building chair Duane Round joined the Parksville-Qualicum Beach Realtors Luncheon last Thursday to make the announcement.

The Lions had initially gone ahead with the estimated $70,000 project using their own funds, intending to continue fundraising. In March they received a $65,597 federal government contribution.

The new provincial money will allow the Lions to continue their ongoing work improving and maintaining the rest of the famous Ventureland playground.
