More than 500 Parksville residents turn out for advance voting

More than 500 voters in Parksville turned out Wednesday (Oct. 5) for the first day of advance voting ahead of the Oct. 15 municipal elections.

Voting was open between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the Parksville Community Centre (132 Jensen Ave E), with the evening a bit quieter than the rest of the day, according to Deb Tardiff, manager of communications for the city.

Tardiff said a total of 532 residents cast a ballot.

There will be a second advance voting opportunity between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Oct. 12 at the community centre on Jensen Avenue.

General Voting Day is Oct. 15, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Parksville Community Centre on Jensen Avenue and Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church (550 Pym St.).
