Motorcyclist hurt in crash

Wet road cited as possible contributing factor in crash

A motorcyclist from Port Alberni was rushed to hospital in Nanaimo Saturday afternoon after she lost control of her ride.

Oceanside RCMP Corporal Richard van de Pol said the crash happened at 2:30 p.m. on Highway 4A in the Qualicum Beach area.

“She lost control of her motorbike on wet pavement,” he said. “Witnesses said the bike flipped a couple of times and then it skidded along the highway for a little way.”

Van de Pol said the woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but the motorcycle suffered extensive damage in the crash.
