A Nanaimo woman is planning a European vacation after winning $150,000 on a scratch-and-win ticket.
Shelley Loeffen said it felt like she was dreaming when she scratched the top prize on a Crossword Extreme ticket that she had purchased at the Woodgrove Centre lottery kiosk.
“At first, I was in denial and didn’t know if I should believe it. I thought it was a dream,” she said in a B.C. Lottery Corporation press release.
She chose the Crossword Extreme ticket that day, she said, because it used to be the favourite scratch ticket of a dear friend who had died.
Loeffen is now planning to take a holiday to the Netherlands, a place she’s always wanted to visit, and also plans to invest in a new home.
