Nothing new to report in Qualicum Beach labour dispute

The mayor and council locked out employees on July 31

Qualicum Beach Chief Administrative Officer Daniel Sailland reported Monday morning that there are no new developments in the town's labour dispute which saw council lock out employees on July 31.

"We still hope to find some way of engaging, the question is how," he told The NEWS. Both sides say the main sticking point in the stalled negotiations is wages with union members holding out for two per cent annual increases.                                                           — NEWS Staff
