Oceanside RCMP have arrested two prolific offenders in the past two days.

On Wednesday (Sept. 27) a 49-year-old Qualicum Beach resident was tracked down and arrested for being unlawfully at large after failing to report to prison. The sentence was in relation to drug- and property-related offences.

On Thursday (Sept. 28) a 30-year-old female Parksville resident was arrested in Parksville in relation to outstanding warrants. Just prior to the arrest, a citizen called in to the RCMP after recognizing her from a press release asking for the public’s help finding the woman.

“It is very helpful when we receive tips from the public that assist us in getting wanted people off the streets. We appreciate our media outlets publishing wanted persons so that the public can assist,” said Staff Sgt. Marc Pelletier.
