Park damage prompts action from RDN

Vandalism to Dunsmuir Park near Horne Lake Road is an ongoing problem, says Regional District of Nanaimo

Ongoing vandalism and damage at Dunsmuir Community Park, located off Horne Lake Road near the railroad tracks, has prompted the area committee to ask Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) staff to deal with the issue.

At a RDN Committee of the Whole meeting director of Area H, David Bartram, on the Parks and Open Space Advisory Committee for the area, said it appears to be a group of young people causing graffiti damage and damage to the portable toilet. He said the committee is talking to people in the area and looking at various options to improve the park.
