At the next Parksville city council meeting, council members will discuss allowing questions from the public for 10 minutes prior to council meetings.

Coun. Teresa Patterson provided the notice of motion during the last council meeting on Monday, March 7.

“It’s something that has been practised in the past and in many of my terms on council. I greatly appreciated having some of those inputs from the public and I would like to see it reinstated,” she said.

Patterson said she was aware of the difficulty involved during ‘COVID times’ in not allowing too many people in the Forum, but as the province returns to a state of normalcy in easing restrictions once again, it would be of benefit to council.

The next Parksville city council meeting is scheduled for March 21 at 1 p.m., and can be viewed via live-stream from the city’s website: www.parksville.ca
