Parksville Qualicum Beach crime report: Bandits pilfer emergency survival kit, truck, log splitter

Oceanside RCMP deal with 298 complaints in one-week period

Oceanside RCMP received 298 complaints the week of June 14-20.

Some of the incidents included:

June 14

• A soft-top vehicle was reported vandalized in the 200 block of Moilliet Street South, Parksville.

• An emergency survival kit, insulated shopping bag and sunglasses were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Wembley Road, Parksville.

June 15

• A Honda motorcycle was reported stolen in the 3300 block of Dolphin Drive, Nanoose Bay. Thanks to tips from the public the bike was recovered and perpetrator arrested.

• A one-horsepower green log splitter was reported stolen in the 400 block of Forneau Way, Parksville.

• A cargo trailer was reported vandalized in the 1800 block of Steelhead Place, Errington.

• A fence was reported damaged in the 300 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.

• A silver Norco 21-speed bike was recovered in the 700 block of Sanderson Road, Parksville. Contact the Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111 during regular business hours to claim.

• Graffiti was reported to a property in the 100 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.

• A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 1000 block of Lee Road East, Parksville.

• A mahogany art supply case was left at the Oceanside RCMP detachment. Call to claim.

• A vehicle window was reported smashed and some contents stolen in the 300 block of Morison Avenue, Parksville.

• A grey-and-purple Raleigh 21-speed bike was recovered in the 300 block of Morison Avenue, Parksville. Call Oceanside RCMP to claim.

June 16

• A 2002 white Dodge 3500, B.C. plate 2622HL, was reported stolen from the corner of Bellevue Road and Alberni Highway, Parksville.

• A number of items were reported stolen from a residential break-and-enter in the 400 block of Pioneer Crescent, Parksville. Stolen items were recovered by the RCMP.

June 17

• Fertilizer was reported stolen during a business break-and-enter in the 600 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.

• A telescope was recovered in the 200 block of Island Highway West, Parksville. Call Oceanside RCMP to claim.

June 18

• A purple CCM Falcon and a red CCM Falcon bicycle were recovered in the 100 block of Abbey Lane, Parksville. Call Oceanside RCMP to claim.

• A red-and-white Miele bicycle was recovered in the 300 block of Island Highway East, Parksville. Call Oceanside RCMP to claim.

• A vehicle window was reported smashed and an Acer laptop and Orient watch stolen in the area of Memorial Avenue and Rupert Road, Qualicum Beach.

June 20

• A utility trailer, B.C. plate 4934OH, was reported stolen in the 1200 block of Rath Road, Parksville.
