PQB crime report: Prowlers lurking in Nanoose Bay, Bowser and Qualicum Beach

Oceanside RCMP received 321 complaints in one-week period

Oceanside RCMP received 321 complaints the week of Aug. 1-6.

Some of the incidents included:

Aug. 1

• A night prowler was reported in the 100 block of Cochrane Road, Bowser.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the area of Sherbrooke Road and Dolphin Road, Nanoose Bay.

• A residential window was reported broken in the 300 block of Craig Street, Parksville.

Aug. 2

• A business was reported sprayed with graffiti in the 100 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.

• Approximately $700 of general merchandise was reported stolen form a storage locker in the 1700 block of Meadowood Way, Qualicum Beach.

• A wallet was reported stolen from an unsecured locker in the 1100 block of Resort Drive, Parksville.

• A storage locker was reported vandalized in the 1700 block of Spirit Way, Qualicum Beach. No entry was noted gained.

• A wallet was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.

Aug. 3

• A 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Stihl power saw and Echo power saw were reported stolen form a shed in the 800 block of Sohier Road, Parksville.

• B.C. licence plate 983GRW was reported stolen form a vehicle in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue East, Qualicum Beach.

• A Konas Yeehaw bicycle was reported stolen from the back of a vehicle in the 200 block of Jensen Avenue West, Parksville.

• A black and red Nitrous Supercycle mountain bike was found in the 400 block of Dogwood Street, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

• Golf clubs were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 500 block of Belyea Road, Qualicum Beach.

• A business was reported vandalized in the 100 block of Island Highway East, Parksville. The front door lock had glue placed in cylinder.

Aug. 4

• A business break-end-enter to an exterior electrical room was reported in the 100 block of Memorial Avenue, Parksville.

• Luggage was reported stolen from the back of a vehicle in the 1300 block of Parkhurst Place, Parksville.

• A wood chipper, snow blower, a touring bike and a tool box were reported stolen from a storage unit in the 1700 block of Country Road, Qualicum Beach.

• A night prowler was reported in the 1700 block of Ballenas road, Nanoose Bay.

• Both B.C. licence plates PN3195 were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Wembley Road, Parksville.

Aug. 5

• A garage door opener and electrician hand tools were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1600 block of Granite Road, Nanoose Bay. There was no damage to vehicle.

• A residential back door was reported damaged by a daytime prowler in the 200 block of Fifth Avenue West, Qualicum Beach.

• Two male prowlers were reported to have attempted to steal a locked bicycle in the 1500 block of Gracyn Drive, Nanoose Bay.

• A black Norco Bushpilot bicycle was reported stolen from the back of a vehicle in the 900 block of Glenhale Crescent, Qualicum Beach.

Aug. 6

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 3800 block of Amberwood Lane, Nanoose Bay.

• A Norco Bushpilot bicycle was found in the 800 block of Island Highway West, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

• Pocket change, an utility knife and first aid kit were some of the items reported stolen from two unlocked vehicles in the 300 block Burnham Road, Qualicum Beach.
