PQB crime report: Thieves steal cash, cars, a boat anchor, hearing aids and more

Oceanside RCMP deal with 257 complaints in one-week period

Oceanside RCMP received 257 complaints the week of Sept. 4 to Sept. 10.

Some of the incidents included:

Sept. 4

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 100 block of Jensen Avenue East, Parksville.

• A vehicle was reported stolen in the 700 block of Memorial Avenue, Qualicum Beach. Vehicle was later recovered.

• B.C. trailer plate WDD91R was reported stolen in the 1100 block of Meadowood Way, Qualicum Beach.

Sept. 5

• Money was reported stolen in a business break-and-enter in the 6100 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach.

• B.C. motorcycle plate J04094 was reported missing in the 800 block of Crocus Corner, Parksville.

• A vehicle was reported vandalized with damage to the ignition in the 1600 block of Brynmarl Road, Nanoose Bay. Also noted missing were fishing knives, scraper and fish de-scaler tool.

• The tailgate from a Toyota Tundra was reported stolen in the 500 block of Hall Road, Qualicum Beach.

Sept. 6

• A Stihl 032 chainsaw, a 1996 PW80 motorbike and assorted tools were some of the items reported stolen in the 1600 block of Spider Lake Road, Qualicum Beach.

• A vehicle was reported keyed in the 1000 block of Windsor Avenue, Qualicum Beach.

Sept. 7

• Sunglasses and Bernafon 52325-96 hearing aids were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Island highway East, Parksville.

• A three-foot-tall decorative, glossy black colour, boat anchor was reported stole in the 3500 block of Dolphin Bay Road, Nanoose Bay.

• Two surfboards, a Mastercraft tool set and Christmas decorations were reported stolen from an outbuilding break-and-enter in the 2500 block of Cross Road, Nanoose Bay.

• Gold framed sunglasses and a dark red/burgundy lanyard with keys were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Island Highway West, Parksville.

• A black Samsung S20 phone was found in the 200 block of Moilliet Street South, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

Sept. 8

• A vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 300 block of Crescent Road West, Qualicum Beach.

• A trailer break-and-enter was reported in 400 block of Manse Road, Parksville.

• A vehicle window was reported smashed and tools noted missing near Exit 60 of the Island Highway, Qualicum Beach.

Sept. 10

• A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle at Cameron Lake. Entry may have been gained through a partially opened window.

• All four tires and rims were reported stolen off of a vehicle in the 3500 block of Outrigger Road, Nanoose Bay.

• Nighttime prowlers were reported in the 600 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 700 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.
