Parksville-area residents are being asked to be on the lookout for a stolen bird bath.
Sgt. Stephen Rose with the Oceanside RCMP confirmed that police received several calls Sunday morning (Oct. 24) regarding overnight thefts along Ponderosa Drive in Parksville.
“Police learned that various garden ornaments had been stolen from several residences overnight and video surveillance from the area captured three to four youths that were involved in the thefts,” wrote Rose in an email to PQB News.

The stolen items included a silver/white bird bath approximately three feet high and a gargoyle decoration.
One neighbourhood resident reported the thefts occurred at 1:20 a.m., where the youths were then seen vandalizing an outdoor Halloween display on Sandlewood Drive.
RCMP have asked anyone with information about the identity of the youths, or the stolen property, to contact the Oceanside detachment at 250-248-6111, referencing police files 2021-11333 or 2021-11335.
