RCMP remind Parksville Qualicum Beach residents they can report crimes online

Option to report lost or stolen licence plates and ICBC validation tags also available

Oceanside RCMP remind the public in Parksville Qualicum Beach that they now offer online reporting.

In a press release, spokesman Cpl. Jesse Foreman said the option to report lost or stolen licence plates and ICBC validation tags (insurance decals) is now available as well.

To report a crime that has already been committed, online crime reporting is available if:

• You have no witness or suspect;

• You have lost something that costs less than $5,000;

• Someone has stolen something from you that costs less than $5,000;

• Someone has vandalized your property or vehicle and it will cost less than $5000 to repair it;

• There are no items involving personal identity or firearms;

• You have a valid email address.
