Recycling and food waste collection for Qualicum Beach and Errington has been cancelled for Thursday, Dec. 30.
According to a social media post by the Regional District of Nanaimo Thursday morning, the snowfall and ongoing unsafe road conditions were main factors in cancelling Thursday’s scheduled curbside pickup.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding to keep our collection crew and all road users safe,” read the post.
An RDN utility representative confirmed that only Errington, of RDN Electoral Area F, was affected.
As the collection has been cancelled, the Town of Qualicum Beach asks residents to not put their bins out in order to assist crews with snow plowing.
The RDN will continue to assess road conditions and offer a further update on rescheduling Thursday’s cancelled routes by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31.
Residents affected by cancellations on Dec. 24, 28 or 29 (RA, RB and RC routes) can find their rescheduled collection information on the “Curbside Collection - Cancellation Update” service alert that was posted Dec. 29.
