STILL TIME TO GIVE: Kalvin Poppy came into the SOS with his grandmother last week to donate a bunch of new, unwrapped toys to the SOS Caring for Kids at Christmas Program. This week, low-income parents, caregivers and grandparents are shopping for free in the SOS Toy Shop, which ensures every local child has a gift to unwrap on Christmas morning. The SOS is also aiming to raise $115,000 in cash in order to distribute grocery store gift cards, so that low-income families and individuals can look forward to a good meal over the holidays. So far $71,111 has been raised. Please donate if you can. Visit www.sosd69.com or call 250-248-2093 to donate with your credit card, or drop in with a donation to the SOS at 245 West Hirst Ave in Parksville.
