Thieves after ciggies at Save-On

Door broken as culprits make their big entrance in smash and grab

Cigarettes were the target of choice for thieves who broke into the Save-On-Foods store in Parksville early Saturday morning.

Oceanside RCMP Sergeant Darrell Robertson said the culprits gained entry into the store by smashing an entrance door. Once inside, they made straight for a secure area where the cigarettes were stored, making off with an undetermined amount.

The police investigation, Robertson said, is continuing.
