The Town of Qualicum Beach was nominated for the 2021 Climate and Energy Action Awards for its ‘Beach Creek Enhancements and Waterfront Improvements’ project under the Climate Adaptation category.

According to a release from the town, the project is transforming a degraded estuary and unsafe intersection into a healthy marine ecosystem and a pedestrian-friendly traffic circle that can withstand and adapt to a changing climate.

This year, 15 communities were nominated in three categories: Community Planning and Development, Corporate Operations, and Climate Adaptation.
