Youngsters playing at the Lions Ventureland Playground in the Parksville Community Park will see a fence around the new equipment being installed.
Renovations to the playground will continue through November with excavation and preparation of the base for the new Harbour Town play equipment starting Oct. 25.
Most of the Ventureland Playground will remain open to the public; however, the work area for the new equipment installation will be fenced until the project is completed in November.
Surfacing of this area is weather dependent as a few days of dry weather are required to complete the project.

The new piece, called Harbour Town, is approximately 60 feet by 60 feet (18.28 metres by 18.28 metres) and includes six slides, a pirate ship, spinner and climbing structures.
The playground piece is based on ramps and hexagonal platforms fostering inclusive and intergenerational play to be accessible to users of all abilities.
The design is based on a ‘ship and dock’ theme, fitting with the marine-seashore overall theme in the playground.
Earlier this year, through the British Columbia Tourism Dependent Communities Fund, the city received a grant for $315,000 for improvements to the playground.
