In Loving Memory ~

It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the passing of Alana Bouey.

Alana was a most devoted wife of 50 years to Corley Henry, a beloved sister to Angela McKeown (Bouey) and loving aunt to Rachel and Connor McKeown. She was also a cherished aunt to Christopher Collins, Roger Senum, and their families.

Alana was born in Vancouver and grew up in Kelowna B.C. She was the second oldest of five children. She easily made friends with her kindness and her wonderful quick sense of humour. Alana had a voracious appetite for reading, learning, and discovering new things. She loved to travel the world, especially to visit Paris, France.

Alana was a wonderfully compassionate woman. She had a deep love of animals and nature. She spent years breeding American Cocker Spaniels through her kennel Dreamweaver and later discovered her love of the Whippet breed. Dogs have always had a special place in Alana's heart. She leaves behind her two beautiful whippets, Tosca and Banjo.

Alana and Corley left Kelowna and moved to Bowser on Vancouver Island in September 2012. Alana loved the scenic nature on the Island and spent her days enjoying her forest by the sea. She could be found reading, enjoying her beautiful yard, and volunteering. Alana cared greatly for nature conservation and volunteered with the Nile Creek Enhancement Society in Bowser to help release salmon fry into the Salish Sea.

Those who wish to remember Alana may make gifts in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Humane Society.

Alana's memory will be treasured by her friends and family for the rest of their lives, and she will be missed more than words can say.
