Anita passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior after a prolonged encounter with cancer. Anita is predeceased by her loving father, George William Neufeld.

Left to mourn her are husband Michael; son Aaron (Jen); Granddaughter Addyson; daughter Zoe (Seamus); Mother, Helen Neufeld of Abbotsford; sisters Caroline of Vancouver and Madelyn of Dilton Marsh, Wiltshire, GB.

Born in Winkler, Manitoba Anita later grew up in Winnipeg before going on to graduate from Waterloo Lutheran University,(where she met Michael), and Toronto’s Teachers College. They later married in 1979 and lived in various Ontario cities before moving to BC in 1983 and the Island in 1985. Finally moving to Parksville in 1987 where they still reside.

Anita courageously and relentlessly did everything she could to fend off her cancerous intruder for 20 plus years with the caring services of the many compassionate professionals. Anita and her family have endless gratitude to first and foremost her Family Physician, Dr. Helmut Mark and all his staff; Dr. Nicol McPherson, her Oncologist; Dr. John Cline and all his staff; all the Nursing, Medical Imaging staff and Radiologists at the NRGH; Drs. Dunne and Marback and all the staff at the NRGH Cancer Clinic; Dr. Barry Whyte and all his staff; all the Parksville Pharmasave staff; the Parksville Community Palliative Care staff; the Healing Touch ministry members of the Parksville Knox United Church and all those who provided her services and were not specifically identified. Our family has sincere gratitude to you all for the quality of services you provided to Anita.

She has also been blessed with many loving, caring relatives, friends and various church members across Canada, especially during her 27 years in Parksville. She valued and was appreciated in her teaching vocations in School District 69; the Parksville Christian School, as well as several schools in Ontario.

Anita was a gentle, sensitive woman of deep faith who spent her life demonstrating loving kindness, forgiveness, caring, listening and creative acts. She appreciated good humor, food, books, travel, gardening, walking, Christmas celebrations, her friends and above all her family.

Join us for a Celebration of Anita’s life on Sat., December 15, 2012 at 1:30 pm at her home church, Parksville Baptist Fellowship, 550 Pym St. Parksville BC.
