ANNA GENOE

May 8, 1959 - April 25, 2013

Anna died peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo Hospital with family by her side after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Anna grew up in the Qualicum Beach area and remained there for her adult life. She began postal work by helping her parents with R.R.#1 mail delivery and began working in the Post Office right after High School. Anna served as Post Mistress until her life was taken too soon by cancer.

Anna dedicated her life to caring for her daughter, Cheri who predeceased her in November, 2011. She was a gifted photographer taking pictures of wildlife, flowers, and birds; she was an active member of Oceanside Photography Club.

Anna goes to join her beloved parents, Ruth and Wilson Le Grand and her sweet daughter, Cheri. She leaves to mourn her sister, Mary Louise (Stan) Douglass of Victoria; her brother, John (Randi) Le Grand; her nephews, Trevor Douglass, Mark Le Grand; niece, Nicole Jansen and her great nieces and nephews and cousins as well as her great aunt, Florence Grieve. Anna leaves behind many wonderful, kind, caring friends.

Thank you to the wonderful staff at the Palliative Care Unit in Nanaimo. A special thank you to Dr. McClure, his wife Diane, and Dr. Reiger for their care for Anna. Thank you to Anna’s loving friends and neighbours who supported her during her illness.

In lieu of flowers, please honour Anna’s memory with donations to the Cops for Cancer.

Please join us in a celebration of Anna’s life to be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 2:30 pm in the Bradley Center in Coombs, BC.
