Arthur John GOOD

20 July 1925 - 19 April 2014

Art passed away at home in Qualicum Beach, B.C. He is pre-deceased by his father Leonard Good, his mother Doris Harris and his sister Irene James. He is survived by his loving wife Bette of 67 years, his sister Doreen (Carl) Carlson, his two daughters Deb Good and Karen (Rick) Franko. He loved and enjoyed his two grandsons Chris and Andy Franko and two great grandchildren Averie and Reese.

Art was born in French Creek and raised in Qualicum Beach. He came from three pioneering families the Goods, Wilsons and Sterrikers. At a very young age he moved to the lower mainland. He always loved the sea and worked at a variety of positions on tugs and vessels on the West Coast. After years of hard work and with two young daughters he became a Captain (Masters Certificate) in 1951. He became a partner in Viking Tug which operated in Vancouver until his retirement in 1969. He then returned to his roots in Qualicum Beach and along with his Uncle Dave Sterriker developed Millstream Acres Trailer Park and Art then started A Good Contracting.

Up until the last several years Art and Bette spent their winters mostly in Cabo San Lucas and Desert Hot Springs. They loved their 5th wheel and travelled across Canada. Their summers were spent boating up and down the B.C. Coast including Alaska. His children, grandkids and son-in-law thank him for passing on his love of boating. His family have great memories of Art and Bette’s cabin at Deep Bay.

The Good Family wishes to thank Sue’s Senior Care and VIHA for the great care and compassionate support they gave Art and his family.

There will be no service or celebration of life
